Now get online permit to visit Chandigarh Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary

With the reopening of the Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary in October after being closed for three months due to the rainy and wildlife breeding seasons, the UT Department of Forestry and Wildlife has begun issuing permits online to visitors.

The permit can be obtained from after paying the prescribed fee. The fee is 30 for children from 5 to 12 years old, 50 for visitors over 12 (Indian) and 100 for foreign visitors over 12 years old.

However, entry for children under five and all schoolchildren, public and private, visiting the sanctuary for educational visits, as well as their teachers, will be free. The ministry will also charge a parking fee of 20 for a two-wheeler, 50 for a 4×4 and 100 for a bus.

Revised bird park hours

The department has also revised the schedules of the Chandigarh Bird Park in view of the shorter winter days. From October 1 to November 30, the park will remain open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; from December 1 to February 28, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and from March 1 to September 30, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The park will remain closed every Monday and Tuesday.
