Tata Punch auction proceeds to fund wildlife conservation in Kaziranga
Guwahati: Tata Engines is ready to auction its unique Punch Kaziranga Sport Utility Vehicle Edition at the Tata IPL Mega Auction 2022, exclusively for fans. Proceeds from this will go towards the conservation of Kaziranga National Park in Assam.
“Presenting a preview of the all-new Tata PUNCH Kaziranga Edition, straight from the TATA IPL 2022 Mega Auction. Inspired by the famous one-horned rhinoceros, the special-edition SUV celebrates the beauty of Kaziranga,” wrote Tata Motors India on its official Twitter account, giving netizens a taste of what Tata has in store for off-roaders.
“Thank you so much @TataMotors_Cars for creating the Kaziranga Edition of Tata Punch. It’s a proud moment,” Kaziranga National Park authorities wrote while retweeting the post, acknowledging Tata Motors’ efforts in conservation of wildlife in the area.
The winning bidder will not only take the vehicle home, but will also take unique and unforgettable experiences from the event with them.
The automaker has released videos and images of Punch’s new Kaziranga edition, which is believed to be inspired by the one-horned rhinos found in Kaziranga National Park. The car is also promoted as the safest car in India with an AQP rating of 5 stars, considered the highest.

Features of Tata Punch Kaziranga Edition
The Tata Punch Kaziranga Edition gets automatic headlights, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a semi-digital dashboard, automatic climate control, cruise control and automatic wipers .
Safety features offered include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and a rear parking camera. Punch is suitable for intra-city commuting and to attract enthusiasts, Tata Motors plans to launch a turbocharged engine with the micro UV.
New turbocharged engine The same 1.2-liter gasoline engine will be equipped with a turbocharger to produce higher power. This is the same powertrain available in Altroz i-Turbo which launched early last year.
In the top-of-the-range hatchback, this engine develops 109 hp and 140 Nm of peak torque and is exclusively mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Deriving this engine for Punch won’t be very difficult as the micro UV is based on the same ALFA platform that underpins Altroz.
Prices and variants of Tata Punch Kaziranga Edition
Punch’s turbo petrol variants are expected to go on sale in late February or early March next year, on top of that Tata is also planning to launch a CNG version later this year.
Customers can choose from seven color options, namely Orcus White, Meteor Bronze, Tornado Blue, Calypso Red, Daytona Grey, Tropical Mist and Atomic Orange.
