To mark World Tiger Day, TRAFFIC is helping Huya integrate wildlife conservation into its livestreaming platform
Huya launched her “Saving Wild Tigers Painting Solicitation” campaign and received hundreds of creative submissions including illustrations, prints and watercolors to help bring attention to the issues currently facing tigers. Attendees included not only artists but also amateur volunteers, influencers and their fans on Huya’s live-streaming platform, showing the insight and understanding of different groups on wildlife conservation.
27e In July, in collaboration with the China Wildlife Conservation Association (CWCA), TRAFFIC and the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), Huya organized an exhibition of selected artworks from “Saving Wild Tigers Painting Solicitation” and invited Huya’s famous influencer “Sha Yu Yo”. as an ambassador for this art exhibition.
Huya will also launch its “Global Tiger Day Awareness Raising Live Streaming” event, featuring Huya’s famous influencer “Zhang Daxian” and conservationists to spread the word about wild tiger conservation to Huya customers.
As a new member of the “Coalition to End Online Wildlife Trafficking” last June, Huya explored innovative approaches through live events.
Huya explored fundraising and conservation awareness approaches through her livestreaming platform. For example, with the support of the CWCA and TRAFFIC, Huya launched a live-streaming campaign titled “Protecting the King in the Forest” with traditional Chinese craftsmen on World Tiger Day last year. In early 2022, Huya launched the “Protect Our Home Planet” campaign to work with major nature reserves to launch live broadcast series, including the Earth Day live broadcast at Northeast National Park. tiger and leopard and giant panda national park.
Huya also organized activities for volunteers, including improving their ability to identify illegal wildlife trade information online and to raise awareness of wildlife conservation, reaching over 100,000 volunteers.
