BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – The new owners of Romelia Farms Wildlife Sanctuary, formerly known as the Obloy Family Ranch, are delighted to give visitors the familiar experience they are accustomed to, but intend to ‘bring their own style to this one. unique experience with the adorable animals that the community adores.

Jeremy and Lina Graves compared their recent Obloy Family Ranch purchase to the 2011 movie “We Bought A Zoo” starring Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson.

While there may not be lions, tigers, or bears like the award-winning film, the Graves family are hoping to take the historic Merritt Island property to new heights and new experiences.

The property dates back to the 1890s when it functioned as a navel orange grove and later became one of Florida’s first alligator ranches.

In 2015, the Obloy family purchased the ranch and helped transform the property into a wildlife preserve and farm, adding horseback riding trails, restoring and restocking freshwater ponds for fishing, building and supplying the general store and outdoor party center.

In addition to the petting zoo, wildlife sanctuary and horseback riding, it also offers accommodation in private cabins, as well as a 3,000 square foot barn, which now serves as the Barn Stall wine cellar and barn. of marriage.
