Zac Efron has delighted fans on Instagram with his travel photos as he travels across Australia to film his Netflix series, Down to Earth.

And on Tuesday, the Hollywood actor stunned his followers when he posted a photo of himself carefully holding a Tasmanian devil in one hand.

The 33-year-old was visiting the Aussie Ark Wildlife Sanctuary near Barrington Tops National Park on the north coast of New South Wales.

His biceps swelled as he carefully manipulated the marsupial around his waist to place it in his enclosure.

The High School Musical star wrote in the caption: “Devil down under.”

He was also featured in a post shared by Aussie Ark alongside his Down to Earth co-host Darin Olien, where the two were seen each holding cards showing footage of Devils, one named Manu and the another called Padfoot.

Zac’s younger brother Dylan, who works on the behind-the-scenes series, was also at the shrine to film the Netflix series.

He posted a photo of himself carrying the animal and wrote in the caption: “Thought I knew the Tasmanian devils… but the Looney Tunes were far away.”

Dylan explained that endangered marsupials are “essential scavengers” that “play a key role in the ecosystem,” before thanking the sanctuary for their work.

Zac explores some of Australia’s most iconic tourist attractions for his new Down to Earth series.

Well-being expert Olien, co-host of Down to Earth, accompanies him on his travels in Australia.

The documentary series will follow their search for healthy and sustainable lifestyles, as well as the adoption of local food, culture and customs as they explore the land Down Under.
